Located in the heart of the city of Miami, Wynwood is one of the poorest neighborhoods in Miami-Dade County. Wynwood sits between Little Haiti and Overtown. Commonly known as "El Barrio", it serves as the city's center of Puerto Rican culture. Wynwood is comprised of predominantly Latin American residents. Its a working class neighborhood with a lot of heart. My mother and grandparents settled here in the late sixties when they arrived here from Cuba. After thirty years they still call Wynwood home.
