The aroma of Cuban coffee fills the air, palm trees sway in the breeze, the sound of dominos clashing, and music is seemingly everywhere you turn. Little Havana is the center of the Cuban exile community in America. As one man put it, "Little Havana is the emotional homestead for most Cubans living in the US". After Castro took control of Cuba in 1959, most exiles who fled Cuba found themselves settling into this 25 block enclave. This influx of refugees changed the face of Miami. A thriving and vibrant Latin American community was born.
